It's Almost Christmas!!

It's so exciting!!  Christmas is almost here!  There are presents under the tree and Mommy even already filled our stockings.  She said something about getting tired of moving the boxes with our stocking stuffers around.  I think Daddy's looks a little fuller than mine....  I don't think they've figured out that I'm the Princesness Baby and should have the fuller stocking...

In other news...  I had my first picture with Santa.  Daddy says I'm not suppose to suck my thumb, but Santa seemed to be ok with it.

We had Christmas with Daddy's family.  I got to hang out with my Mamaw Schrougham some and I managed to spend some time with my cousins, Ashley, Andrea & Ally getting some fashion tips.  I got a really neat stuffed snowman from my Great Mamaw Cleda.  Mommy thinks its funny to sing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" to me every time she gives it to me.  Daddy thinks she's silly and I'm pretty sure he's right!  At least she hasn't named him Olaf yet...

We also had our Christmas with Aunt Jaimy & Uncle Kirby.  I got lots of attention!  Aunt Jaimy's Mommy and Daddy kept me entertained and gave my Mommy and Daddy a chance to visit (I'm pretty sure they are missing their little buddy, Justus, but I'll help him out and stand in until he can come to visit again).   I got a really cool stuffed elephant and a book about Christmas!  Kyle read it to me and then he decided to wear a bow like mine!  And we took a picture of course...

The last two Sunday's I've worn really fancy dresses!  One my Mamaw got me and it's all silver and sparkly and because Mommy is a new Mommy and didn't know she should have washed it really well before I wore it.  I was ok with it since I left a trail of sparkles everywhere I went, just like a fairy princess!  Of course, since we visited Mommy's friend Pastor Jeremy at his church that Sunday, Mommy felt really bad for the person who cleans for them!

This Sunday I wore a red and green Christmas dress!  I was all dressed up and even wore shoes for a while.

Don't I look pretty?

Oh, and did I mention that Daddy built me my first blanket fort?

What do you think?

Merry Christmas to Everyone!
Love,
Princess Myka

All Things Christmas

It's beginning to look like Christmas around here and I have lots of outfits to prove it!  I'm a regular Christmas Princess!

Saturday Mommy, Daddy and I checked out Victorian Christmas.  I saw my first puppet show and we had a lot of fun!

In other news, I've watched Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for the first time.  I really liked the music and colors.  Mommy is pretty sure I actually paid attention!  Of course Daddy was there to save me from the Abominable Snowman, so everything was ok.

I've also started playing with my toys (if Mommy puts them in my hand at least...  But I have fun).

Tonight, Mommy says we are going to decorate my very own tree for my room.  It has bright colored lights, but I'm trying to decide if I need flashing lights or some that just stay on....  Well I'll have Mommy post some pictures after we get it decorated.

Talk to you later!

The Thanksgiving Adventure

Goodness!  It's been such a busy time for me!  With Thanksgiving, holiday shopping, checking our Vincennes and meeting all of my cousins I've been really moving!

I met my cousin Shae first.  I think she's going to be a big helper!  She's already helping me with fashion choices.  She picked out my jammies for to wear the first night she came to visit me!  She also helped me eat supper.

My next big day was Thanksgiving!

Wasn't my outfit the best?  I'm pretty sure no one else had one quite like it!  Oh my goodness...  Was Thanksgiving busy!  There was such a big crowd at lunch!  I was quite the center of attention.  Mommy still made me take a nap though.  Right in the middle of all the big people action!

After we were done with lunch with Daddy's family we went to Vincennes for the weekend!  It was my first big trip!  I met so many people!  I met my great-aunts, Lynn, Sally and Peggy and also my Great-Grandpa Vieck.

Friday, Mommy and I went shopping with Aunt Sally and Grandma Vieck.  We got some pretty good deals!  Mommy stocked up on some movies for this winter for us to watch with Daddy.  In fact, I think she might be planning a Harry Potter marathon if we get snowed in....  I bought my Christmas present for Daddy!  I think he'll really like it!  Of course Mommy helped, but it's definitely from me!  I'll have to have Mommy share a picture of it when he opens it!

I also got to go check out my Uncle Nathan & Aunt Jennifer's house.  Did I mention I got to spend time with my cousin's Billy and Wyatt this trip?  I even got to help decorate Grandma Vieck's tree!  Well, ok, I put one ornament on the tree, but next year maybe I can help as much as my cousin's Billy and Wyatt did!

On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy and I checked out Vincennes.  We went out to eat at Baker's Alley and went shopping at the Fort Sackville Project and Faith Store there.

I got to meet more of Mommy and Daddy's friends (yes, Daddy has friends in Vincennes!  Isn't that crazy?)  Then we went to visit my Great-great-aunt Loretta.  Of course then there was Thursday Church on Sunday!  I kind of slept through most of it though....  And that was with Mommy and Daddy picking a seat fairly close to the front!  Mommy kind of thought the drums might wake me up, but not this girl!  I didn't get to hear Pastor Debbie since she wasn't there, but Pastor Dave did a good job (I slept through the music, but was awake for some of the message).

Well, that's what's up with this Princess Baby!
Until later...

My Coming Out Adventure!

What a crazy busy time I've had lately!  In fact I've been so busy I haven't had time to dictate my blog post to Mommy!  I know everyone is just dying to know what I've been up to, so here goes....

Like I told everyone in my last post Mommy went back to work so I've been hanging out with my cousin Ally a couple of days a week.  We're getting in a groove where Mommy working is concerned although I still need some extra cuddles after she's been at work.  The really fun thing is I got to go the mall for the first time last Saturday!!!!  I LOVED it!  There were so many interesting things to see and do there.  Daddy is going to be in trouble in a few years when I decide that shopping is just as fun as the lights and noises.

This week Mommy and I did all of our normal stuff, but Friday was special!  I got to meet my "cousins" Ryan, Kyle & Riley.  Uncle Kirby and Aunt Jaimy brought them over and we had pizza (well.... everyone but me had pizza...).

Then today some of Mommy's friends from work had a party for us.  We had so much fun and I got to meet Mommy's friend Amy's little boys.  I'm not sure I know what to do meeting so many people closer to my size that aren't furry like my puppies!  I'm going to be really busy meeting new people in the next few weeks!  I have more cousins to meet and of course Thanksgiving is coming up....  Oh and I go to church for the first time tomorrow!  It will be my first church service that isn't Thursday Church!  Not sure what to do about that, but Mommy tells me it's ok, we'll go to Thursday Church for real when we go to visit Grandma & Grandpa Vieck at Thanksgiving.  I get to hear Pastor Debbie in person then!  Mommy tells me she thinks I'll probably get to hear Pastor Kim tomorrow so that won't be so different.  Will it?  While I like to get things going on my own faster than Daddy would like some days I also like for some things to stay the same so Pastor Kim this week and Pastor John next.  That should work good for me!

Lots of big things happening in my little world!  But I do have an adoring public to start meeting, so bring them on....

Well that's what new with this Princess Baby!
See you around!

In Today's News...

Well, Mommy finally got to put that crazy outfit she was working on for me, but Daddy being on my side had it off in less than 10 minutes.  I think Mommy might have been a little put out with him for that, but she did manage to get a picture.

So what do you think?  Do I make a good Little Evil Minion?

Let's see....  In other news, Mommy and Daddy went to church together Sunday and my Aunt Jaimy came to stay with me.  I'll get to go with them in a couple of weeks.  Also, Mommy went back to work this week.  Her first day back was yesterday.  I hung out with my cousin, Ally.  I think we're going to get along pretty well.

Well, I think that's all the new stuff for now!

Until next time...

I"m a Big Girl, Now!!

Wow!  It's been a big week for me since our last chat!  Well, actually it was a big weekend.  It started Friday night when I moved to my own room!  Mommy and Daddy have their room back (except when I come in to cuddle in the morning).  So I'm a big girl sleeping in her big girl bed when Mommy decided we could kick it up a notch.

When I was born I was so little that I couldn't fit into the car seat that Mommy and Daddy had for me so they had to get one that fit me.  I've been in it for the last few months, but like a couple of big kids, Mommy and Daddy wanted to use the cool car seat.  So this weekend when we went out on Saturday I went in my stylish new car seat and it fit and worked beautifully!

Of course the great thing about getting to use my new car seat is that I also get to start using my big girl stroller!  See my car seat fits on my stroller which is awesome!  So to celebrate we went to Franklin, IN.  We strolled around downtown after Mommy and Daddy had lunch at this restaurant they had been wanting to try for a while called The Willard.

It was my second time in a grown-up restaurant.  My first was Thursday when Mommy and I spent some time with my Aunt Jaimy.  We went to this really neat tearoom called The Sassafras Tea Room.  So I guess technically my big week started Thursday.

And to finish it up I had my 2 month appointment with Dr Hoffman yesterday.  I weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 5 oz.  I've almost doubled my birth weight.  Mommy was so excited!  Dr Hoffman was really happy with how I was doing.  I'm doing so well my next appointment isn't until the end of December.  So here is what a big girl looks like.....

Anyway, it's been a huge week with lots of progress for me!  Until next time!

Baby Confusion!

So I'm a little confused everyone!  Maybe someone can help me.  I think my Mommy might be going crazy!  She's been working on a Halloween costume for me...  Does she even realize that #1 I'm too little to go Trick or Treating & #2 Nobody is going to see me in this outfit?  She really is having way too much fun with this outfit!

The other thing that confuses me is that while she's working on this she's had me helping her with Christmas shopping for Daddy and picking up Christmas decorations!  I'm little so I get confused easy so I'm not sure is it Christmas or Halloween first?

Anyway on a less confusing note I got to meet my future dentist today.  Mommy had to go have Dr Frazee check her teeth out and I got to meet him and all the girls in the office.  He seems really nice.  Maybe I won't get scared when it gets time for me to see him.  Right now I was more worried about keeping my paci in my mouth.  I was a little disappointed though because my princess paci needed clean so I didn't get to show that off.  Have I shown you my princess paci?  Here's a picture of what it looks like!

I have both of the pink ones.  One to remind everyone of my Princess status.  The other when I want to pretend I'm having tea.  They are much more fashion forward than the plain clear ones Mommy had for me before...

So last week I got to go to the Covered Bridge Festival, sort of...  I got to go to some of the flea markets and yard sales that set up on the way to the actual festivals.  Mommy & Daddy seem to only go to the festivals themselves for the food and Mommy said that the crowds were just too big there for me to go to the towns where the actual festivals take place.  We did get some really good stuff though.  Mommy found some jewelry and Disney stuff to sell on eBay, Daddy found some really nice chairs for our fireplace room and of course I got a book.  It's the best book ever...

Isn't it appropriate?  So everyone can please call me by my correct name, Princess Baby :-)

So that's the excitement of my life right now.  Oh!  Here Mommy thought some of you might enjoy seeing a couple more pictures that Miss Crystal took.  All of them turned out so nice!!!

This picture is of me wearing the dress that MaMaw Schrougham wore home from the hospital.  I got big enough to wear it just in time for our pictures.  The blanket was a present from Daddy's work.

In this picture I'm wearing the dress that my Great-Grandma Sutton got for my Grandma Vieck to put Mommy in when she brought her home from the hospital.  I couldn't wear it home from the hospital, but I fit in it just in time to get a picture with Mommy and Daddy's teddy bears along with all of my other stuffed animals and of course, Molly, my first dolly, who finally is smaller than me!

Until next time....

My Birthday Week

Hey everybody!  I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I've been so busy!  Daddy was home all last week so we had all sorts of stuff that needed to be done.  Mommy and Daddy got some decorations up at our house, Mommy took me on my first trip to the library and they did some organizing around our house (I didn't help with that).  I got my first official pictures taken by Mommy & Daddy's friend Miss Crystal on Saturday.  I had a little trouble cooperating, but she's good so she managed to get some good pictures of me.  Don't you think?

She even took our first family picture....

Aren't we a cute little family?

We ended our week with Daddy by taking a trip to the Indianapolis Art Museum and walking around the grounds (another first for me).  It was a really pretty fall day for that and I even got to tour my first old house when we went through Oldfields while we were there.

This week, Monday was the day I was suppose to be born.  Do you think that means that I need to have two birthday parties every year?  The day I was born and the day I should have been born.  Of course if I do what my cousin's Andrea, Ashley and Ally do I get to have a birthday month.  So if I have two birthday's I get two birthday months and that's lots of attention and presents!  Uh oh.... Mommy says that's not the way things work though and I don't get to have two birthdays.  Can anybody help me change her mind?

My Busy Life

Hi everyone!  It's been a little bit since my last update, but I've been so busy!  I'm really excited this week because Daddy is home with me and Mommy.  We've been getting all sorts of things done.  Well.... Mommy & Daddy have been at least.  We have all sorts of pictures and stuff up on the walls and on the fireplace.  Mommy says it finally looks and feels like we live here.  She even said she can live with the wallpaper that's still up.  Between the stuff that she and Daddy had to decorate with it looks pretty good.  So whoever comes to visit gets to see our snazzy newly decorated house!

In other news...  I've started to wear Newborn clothes!  I'm outgrowing my preemie outfits really fast!  The newborn outfits are a little big on me, but I can fit in them.

Don't I look cute?

This weekend I get to have my picture taken.  Mommy & Daddy's friend Miss Crystal is coming to take some pictures at my house so I will have my official princess portraits!  Maybe we'll even have some taken with my little tiara....  We'll have to see!

My First Fall

This week has been a fun week so far and it's only Tuesday!  Monday my Grandma Vieck came for a visit and I took my first trip to the apple orchard.  We needed some apples for some yummy stuff that Mommy plans to make this week.  Also, we decided to make sure that Daddy got some apple butter and apple cider for this season.  After that we came home and Mommy and Grandma decorated our house for fall while I took a nap.  It looks really nice, don't you think?

After we were done, Grandma took a picture of Mommy and me with our newly decorated front and side doors.  Mommy was really excited about the decorations.  She says it finally feels like someone lives in our house now.

We've had such a busy few days that today we just hung out around the house because we were tired!  We did have a visit from one of Mommy's friends and managed a walk with Daddy when he got home, but that was about as exciting as our day got today.  Now we'll see what the rest of the week looks like!

Milestones, Visitors and Fashion Dilemmas

It's me, Myka, again!  It's been a really busy week for me!  I've finally started having some visitors and I turned a month old on Friday!  Kind of funny since I'm still not suppose to really be here yet and here I am a month old already!  I saw my doctor on Friday and I'm up to 5 lbs 7 oz.  He'd like to see me gain weight a little more quickly, but I've really started to eat a lot lately so Mommy is pretty sure I'll take care of that in no time!

I got to start having visitors this week, too!  Mamaw Schrougham, my Aunt Ness & Uncle Mike and cousin Ally all came to see me. (Well, I'm not completely sure if Ally came to see me or Winston, but since everything is suppose to be about me I'm saying she came to see me!)  I have some more visitors coming to see me this week, too.  I'm excited about that!  Finally, I get to meet people!  It's kind of hard to get my princess practice in when I don't get to interact with my adoring public!  I am having a little bit of a fashion dilemma though....  I think I should get to wear my new tiara that Mommy's friend Rebecca made me when my visitors come, but Mommy thinks it might be a little too much for casual visits and says we should save it for pictures with Miss Crystal in a few weeks.

Thoughts anyone?  Feel free to leave a comment below to help me convince Mommy different....

First Weekend Home

This weekend was my first full weekend home!  Even if Daddy had to work some we still had fun.  We used the Moby wrap again and I got to go check out a flea market (actually I slept through most of it) and we went for a walk in the park with the puppies.  I really like that Moby wrap.  It keeps me warm and comfy and lets me go a few places.

We spent a lot of time at home though.  Daddy got some work done and Mommy was cleaning and organizing (she seems to really like doing that).  Mommy and I also made a Cinnamon Apple Crumb Bars (ok, Mommy did the work and I provided moral support and cuteness).  Daddy says they were good.  I'm a little to small to eat them yet so I don't know for sure.  Here's the recipe though if you want to give them a try yourself...

Mommy and Daddy also managed to get some more work done on my room.  It still has a few things left to be done, but it's coming along really well.

And to top it off we even managed our first church service together.  On the couch with the puppies thanks to Thursday Church Mommy's hometown, Vincennes.  Mommy says it still counts even if we were at home.  Guess that's good since we can't go to church for a while longer...

Adventures in a Moby

This has been an exciting few days for me!  Thursday I got to have my first sort of outing.  I went with Mommy to pick the puppies up at the groomers.  I went in style with my pink Poky Little Puppy onsie on!

See while I have to be careful and avoid crowds I can get out sometimes.  Mommy went in the morning to check everything out and then later that afternoon we went to pick them up when they were ready.  When we do go out places like this Mommy puts me in this thing called a Moby wrap.  It's really cool.  It keeps me close to Mommy and limits my exposure to people other than Mommy and/or Daddy.  I'm pretty sure every baby needs one of these!  For me its especially good since it means I can get out of the house some.  It also keeps Mommy from going stir crazy (although I've noticed that she has been actually having fun cleaning the house, it's been a while since she's felt good enough to do that).  We like it lots!

http://www.mobywrap.com/mw/Home.htm

We used it again last night to go for a walk with Daddy, Shelby, Havoc & Winston around the neighborhood.  It's fun to get out a little bit (even if I did sleep through most of the walk...).  So now that we've figured out how to use this thing I can't wait to see what we are going to do today!  Maybe I'll get to go to a park...

Growing

It's me again!  Wow I had a busy day yesterday!  I met my pediatrician Dr Hoffman yesterday.  Everyone in the office was so nice and we found out Mommy met his wife when she was in the hospital after having me.  She works with Mommy's doctor.  We thought that was kind of cool.  My appointment went really well!  I now weigh 5 lbs 1.6 oz!  Woo Hoo!!!! I passed the 5 lb mark!  Daddy was really excited!

We celebrated by having our first family movie night!  The movie of choice.... National Treasure.  Evidently, Mommy thinks I need to start learning about history at an early age.  I'm pretty sure she's planning on making me watch National Treasure: Book of Secrets tonight.  Maybe there will at least be popcorn tonight, not that I get any, but I'd get to smell it at least....  My furry brother, Winston, is really hoping for the popcorn, but then he eats anything he can steal!

The next fun thing is I got a present in the mail today!  I have lots of blankets that are all really neat, but this one has my name and birthday on it!  Daddy's work sent it.  It's really pretty!    Don't you think?

Intro to Me

Hi, everyone! My name is Myka Gabrielle and this blog is about ME!!  I was suppose to be born October 13th, but I got a little impatient and decided I needed to come a little early.  So I was born August 26th just 4 days after Daddy's birthday.  I weighed a big 4 lbs 3 oz when I was born and needed to be in the NICU for a few weeks, but even at that my doctor and nurses said I was a rockstar and I managed to come home much sooner than they expected.  I hung out with them in NICU just long enough to give my Mommy time to recover and then I was ready to come home a few days before I turned 3 weeks old.

I came home and met my furry siblings, Havoc, Shelby & Winston.  Havoc finds me pretty interesting,
Winston sniffs me once in a while and Shelby.... Well Shelby thinks I'm a paw rest.  Mommy has to keep reminding her that I'm not a pillow for her feet!  It's hard being the littlest one in the family!!

Of course being so little and being born so early means that I come home with special instructions and lots of do's and don'ts.  I don't get to go to church or much of anywhere for 2 whole months!  Dr King told Mommy and Daddy that I need to stay away from crowds, people who might be sick and other little kids and babies because I can get sick really easy and if that happens I get all sorts of yucky tests if I go back to the hospital.  I'm really bummed about that because I have people to meet and places to go and this is slowing me down!!  I didn't come early so I could hang out at home, but Mommy says we have to listen to the doctor.  That also means I already have an engagement calendar and secretary, a.k.a Mommy, managing when people can come and visit.  So anybody wanting to see me needs to make sure they aren't sick and set up a date and time with Mommy (don't tell her I said this, but I'm pretty sure she can be bribed with Starbucks...)

Anyway this is how you can stay up to date on what's going on with me even if I can't get out and visit everybody just yet!
